50 Cent Ain’t Worth A Penny
According to some local Park Citizens, the Park City police chief responded to an emergency call regarding the rapper, 50 Cent who was spontaneously filming a machine gun fight for his video on Main Street, without permission. To add to that rebellion, last night he also made an incredibly short appearance at Downstairs, where he was to play host for the evening. Apparently, he bagged out after a short while, renigging on his commitment. A person is only as good as his word. We will all know what to expect whenever we hear 50 Cent.
Like many venues during Sundance, Downstairs had rented the space to another event company for the night, handing over control of tickets and production, including the management of 50 Cent. Managers Seth and Amanda Hill were devastated at the let-down that fans experienced and have pledged to do everything they can to help refund guests’ money.
Downstairs successfully hosted several celebrities throughout the week under their own management, giving fans the chance to see Lil Jon, Danny Trejo, Dave Navarro and Wil Valderrama in an intimate setting. Many guests even posed for photos with the stars, building Downstairs’ reputation as a venue that is true to its word in connecting attendees with celebrity hosts. The club will continue to bring in headlining names throughout February, including the return of DJ Samantha Ronson.
