Park City, Worst Economy in Utah?

Park City’s sales tax numbers continue to be dismal — only slightly better than Vernal’s petroleum based economy, according to Bonneville Research. Revenue is down $203,508 from May 2008. Here are the top ten biggest losses in the state for May 2009:

  1. -32.6%   Vernal
  2. -32.4%   Park City
  3. -23.5%   St. George
  4. -22.6%   Bountiful
  5. -22.5%   Salt Lake County (Uninc)
  6. -22.3%   West Valley City
  7. -22.1%   Pleasant Grove
  8. -20.3%   Sandy
  9. -20.2%   Brigham City
  10. -19.9%   Provo
