Harry O’s Ups the Smut Factor, Redeems With Headliners
The reputably risque Harry O’s edged even further toward Smutville this summer with a racy promotion offering cash and prizes for a “Girls Kissing Girls” contest, touting a live performance by Pittsburgh Slim — who recorded the song, “Girls Kiss Girls.” The controversial nightclub has long teetered on the brink of crass versus class, although the tawdry promotion may have pushed the venue solidly in the first camp.
Harry O’s may redeem itself as a music venue, however, with headliner shows in the next month including Bad Boy Bill on July 10 and an appearance by Asher Roth with Kid Cudi on July 22. Saturday Night Groove continues through June with standby spinner DJ Brisk — and (unsurprsingly) scantily clad special guests.
