All-Girl Band Forms in Park City: Hello, Lash LaRue

The Pussy Cat Dolls Have Nothing on Lash LaRue.

For one, the gals in Park City’s newest all-female band can play their own instruments — and the ladies of Lash LaRue have reportedly displayed a more varied fashion sense than bleach and leather.  The multi-generational femme force, consisting of Karri Hays Walzer, her daughter, Samantha, Elaine Berns from the Detonators, Cole Hobbs from Muddpuddle on Geetar and Mark Viar of John Boy’s Mule on upright bass, has scored gigs from Park City to Peoa. The group’s talents range far past voice, spanning the guitar to the kazoo.

“I play violin, banjo, and whatever else is handed to me,” Walzer wrote on her Facebook page. “Samantha and Elaine are keyboardists but they are hedging…so I’m making them play the kazoo, the tamborine, and the washboard.”

The gals are now accepting requests for gigs.
